Job Summary:
Provides office coordination for the Staff Education department. Organizes educational opportunities that advance the clinical and professional expertise of staff. Applies substantial knowledge and experience to perform a wide range of advanced activities and/or determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals; serves as working supervisor for team or work group. Coordinates small program(s) with limited budget/impact.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Five years' technical experience: Preferred
- Educator experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Assesses and prioritizes learning needs, designs and develops various educational programs and strategies, facilitates delivery of educational and professional development content, and evaluates effectiveness through analysis of clinical quality and patient safety outcomes.
- Acts as both an educational and clinical resource to the care delivery team and other staff, contributing to the organization’s culture of learning.
- Maintains office environment to include, but not limited to: answering phones, setting up files, sorting mail, maintaining bulletin boards, ordering supplies, reserving room and equipment for classes, updating Standards Manuals, sorting and filing updated catalogs, maintaining a current list of reps and suppliers, maintains par levels for CPR supplies. Produces and distributes Staff Education calendars and educational flyers.
- Provides office coordination for the Staff Education department including student placement, BLS and ACLS programs, and administrative assistance in HealthStream. Manages staff notification and registration for BLS, ACLS, and other required certification utilizing HealthStream class function; proactively manages classroom scheduling to maximize instructor resources; alerts staff and leadership of expired certifications.
- Maintains computerized education records for nursing service; data entry of in-service/competency records, production of education reports, archiving of education records relative to JCAHO and regulatory requirements. Provides administrative assistance of HealthStream functionality including classroom templates and attendance, user name issues, and certification reports.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
