About the role
Responsibilities
Your Role:
- Under the direct supervision* of the Director/Pharmacy, Supervisor/Pharmacy, or a Pharmacist, performs a variety of technical and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit dose drug distribution system.
- * Direct Supervision: A pharmacist gives specific instructions on all assignments. A pharmacist reviews the technician’s work for completeness and accuracy, or the technician performs tasks with inherent checks built into the nature of the work.
- Responsible for maintaining confidential reports, entering and retrieving data utilizing the computer system, filling automated medication dispensing systems with a supply of unit dose medications, procuring and filling requests for pharmaceutical supplies, and delivering supplies to patient care areas.
Reports To:
- Director/Pharmacy (JC: 039358), Supervisor/Pharmacy (JC: 024601), or Pharmacist (JC: 021702)
Supervises:
- None
*This position is overnight, 7PM - 7AM, shift differentials are included*
Qualifications
Required Education:
- High school diploma (or equivalent) and successful completion of a Florida Board of Pharmacy (FLBOP) approved pharmacy technician training program.
Required Experience:
- None
Preferred Experience:
- Six (6) to twelve (12) months of pharmacy experience.
Required Certification/License/Registry:
- FLBOP registration in accordance with Florida Statutes, Title XXXII (Regulations of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 465 (Pharmacy), Section 014 (Pharmacy Technician).
- CPhT credential from the PTCB or the NHA within one (1) year post-hire.
