Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
As Director of Brand Partnerships, you will strategize, prepare and execute the Go To Market vision for all Brand monetization and Sponsorship Opportunities for the portfolio with a focus on Bravo and Telemundo properties.
You will report to the Vice President, Brand Partnerships and collaborate cross-functionally within all facets of Ad Sales, including Creative Partnerships (Development, Marketing, Trade, Commerce, Creative), Network Leadership, Communications, Events, Finance, Planning, Research, Business Affairs, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Leading sponsorship efforts and providing Brand/IP expertise to sales team
- Responsible for Sponsorship packaging
- Development of Sales positioning around sponsorship
- Central connection & Final Checkpoint on each sponsorship deal
- Partner with Network Leadership and manage business relationships
- Triage sales issues as it relates to partnerships
- Understand brand finance pacing and goals, especially for event programming
- Lead and strategize co-sales with social partners
- New Revenue Stream explorations tied to content & IP
- Event/Hospitality strategy tied to sponsorship & specific IP
- Work with shows on brand usage approvals & monetization of brands
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive experience in sales and/or marketing with proven client service management
- Proven Experience working with brand advertisers in both TV and digital; proven ability to provide category-specific knowledge and experience to develop holistic solutions that generate revenue and ROI for brands
Desired Characteristics:
- Strong understanding of the advertising marketplace across various platforms
- Experience in media marketing and the advertising sales process
- Understanding of B2B branding development, strategy, tactics and execution
- Strong interpersonal skills (i.e., the ability to interact with all levels of management)
- Self-Starter with strong organizational, project & management skills
- A detail-oriented individual with the ability to work in a cross-functional and fast-paced environment on multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
- Meticulous, with a keen eye for detail and organization
- Strong interpersonal skills - with the ability to lead and motivate interdepartmental teams and influence internal and external stakeholders
- Highly innovative with positive energy & flexible attitude
Additional Requirements:
Must be willing to work in New York, NY a minimum of 3 days/week
- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
Salary range: $130,000 - $160,000 + Sales Incentive Commission and Long-Term Incentive eligible
