We are seeking a compassionate and highly organized Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) who will also serve in the role of Community Van Driver and Staffing Coordinator. This multifaceted position requires a skilled CNA who can assist patients with their healthcare needs, ensure safe transportation to and from appointments, and coordinate staffing schedules. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and caregiving skills while managing transportation and staffing responsibilities.
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities
As a CNA Van Driver:
- Safely operate the community van to transport patients to and from medical appointments, day programs, or other scheduled activities.
- Ensure that all passengers are secured properly in their seats and are comfortable during transit.
- Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the van, including routine inspections and reporting any maintenance needs.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations to ensure safe and timely arrival for appointments.
- Communicate with the scheduling team to confirm and adjust transportation routes and pick-up/drop-off times as needed.
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
- Assist with patient feeding, ensuring comfort and safety during meals.
- Document patient progress and report any changes in condition to nursing staff or supervisors.
- Support patients with exercises or rehabilitation activities as directed by a healthcare professional.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
As a Staffing Coordinator:
- Coordinate and manage the scheduling of staff, ensuring adequate coverage for caregiving shifts.
- Work closely with the healthcare team to assess staffing needs and adjust schedules based on patient requirements and staff availability.
- Communicate with staff members regarding schedule changes, time-off requests, and shift confirmations.
- Track and maintain accurate records of hours worked by each staff member and assist in payroll processing as necessary.
- Ensure staffing levels are compliant with regulatory guidelines and company policies.
- Assist with the recruitment and orientation of new staff members when necessary.
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:
- Current state certification as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience in patient care, transportation services, or a similar healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, staff, and family members.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
- Ability to lift or assist patients with mobility as required by healthcare protocols.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, safety protocols, and infection control procedures.
- Previous experience with staffing coordination and scheduling software is a plus.
