At Syngenta, we believe every employee has a role to play in safely feeding the world and taking care of our planet. To support that challenge, the Production & Supply team is currently seeking a NA Seeds Business Improvement Lead, located in the Midwest region.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead strategically prioritized projects using Lean Six Sigma methodology, engaging regional and functional stakeholders from build through execution
- Lean Six Sigma expert, including project delivery, coaching, mentoring and training Belts within the company
- Develop and adapt projects agilely and ability to work through ambiguity to deliver results
- Embed change management in project delivery
- Drive results: Assess and identify risks and changing business needs that may lead adjustments in projects or changes to process to achieve excellence in delivery
- Design sustainable processes to support innovation and drive continuous improvement and productivity
Accountabilities
- Project Management: Leading highly visible and complex improvement initiatives facilitating teams to shape, manage, implement and sustain improvements ensuring delivery on time, to target and within budget. Drive the implementation of strategic projects together with stakeholders. Build, implement, monitor projects, including building plan, charters, business case, stakeholder analysis, user requirements, and other information needed to develop and execute projects, in a creative and collaborative way, using mainly a virtual environment (35%)
- Lean Six Sigma leader: Coaching, mentoring, and training Belts on Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement. Coach and teach employees, teams and leaders at all levels of the organization on the application of improvement methodologies, techniques and how to create an improvement culture (15%)
- Partner and manage the productivity and Lean Six Sigma portfolios with functional partners, while driving process improvement/continuous improvements. (15%)
- Drive change management based on region and function needs (15%)
- Drive a mindset and actions around valuation of improvement benefits through favorable KPI movement and the understanding of related financial impacts. (10%)
- Drive results: Assess and identify risks and changing business needs that may lead adjustments in projects or changes to process to achieve excellence in delivery with ability to develop and adapt projects in uncertainty and ambiguity (10%)
Qualifications
Personal capabilities
- Project management: Lead Lean Six Sigma and strategically prioritized projects, engaging regional and functional seeds stakeholders from initial build through delivery
- Shows and communicate insight in identifying core issues in complex business problems with many contributing factors
- Coaching, mentoring and training Belts within the company
- Proactively prioritize tasks and goals for delivery excellence
- Uses data, logical analysis and insight to pinpoint the underlying issues
- Articulates goals for business based on an understanding of capability and readiness to change
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - adept at building appropriate communication to fit the needs of the audience and content. Adapts communication style and content to the needs of the audience
- Sells concepts and solutions to business leaders to transform the organization
Critical experience and education
- > 5 years of Experience in business project / program management with application of project and program management methodologies in large / complex projects
- Green Belt or higher Lean Six Sigma training and experience, including expertise in process improvement
- Data driven decision making, including excellent analytical and planning skillsets
- Strong capability to develop, coach & teach others in structured problem solving, project delivery, and managing change
Preferred experience
- 2+ years as a Black Belt or Master Black Belt
- Trained in a change management methodology
- Agriculture, manufacturing, or supply chain experience
