What you bring to the table

Beck is looking for a talented Project Accountant to join our team. A person in this role will have previous experience satisfactorily managing project accounts payable for construction jobs $1M to $20M in size and scope or supporting a Senior Project Accountant on a project larger in scope.

The job involves the following essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable
  • Filing & distribution: server files, miscellaneous office/project files, mail
  • Project Accounting assistance/support:
    • MWBE tracking
    • Billing backup
    • Uploading contract/subcontract documents (CMiC/project server)
    • Audit documentation support
    • Vendor setup/MWBE vendor setup
    • Subcontractor compliance (COIs, SQS, etc.)
    • Equipment tracking
  • Office/jobsite supplies management & other miscellaneous administrative duties
  • Various regional and/or project specific support
  • Badging
  • Safety Administration support
  • Other duties as assigned by Project Accountant

Who we think will be a great fit

An analytical problem-solver with an understanding of accounting and business administration functions, uncompromising authenticity and integrity, a positive attitude, and a passion for learning and taking initiative to get things done. This person has the ability to work under pressure, at times, as a collaborative team player with multiple managers on different projects. You will also meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping and/or job, field or office administration experience
  • Associates Degree or higher in Accounting or Business Administration preferred
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service and/or Administrative training/skills
  • Basic understanding of:
    • Mechanic’s lien laws for the state in which work is being performed
    • Owner’s/Subcontractor’s Contract Documents, Purchase Orders, and Pay Applications
    • Insurance Requirements for Owner/Subcontractor, i.e. General Liability, Workers Compensation, CCIP, OCIP, etc.

Physical Demands

Frequently required to sit, stand, and move about the office; frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment; frequently lift and move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and move up to fifty pounds; constantly communicates with project and operations teams, Beck employees, and external vendors; ability to adhere to timely and consistent attendance.
