Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated

Senior Communications Manager

who will join our team as a parental leave cover. This role is expected to last approximately 18 months starting in May 2025.  

In this role, you will create and nurture our story, develop our relationships with media, and help build YIT’s reputation. The position is located in Helsinki. 

As part of your role, you will be responsible for partnering with our Infrastructure segment and supporting senior executives in their external and internal communications. 

You will report to the SVP, Communications, and work closely with colleagues in Group Communications and other teams, including the Infrastructure business segment, Sustainability, People and Culture, as well as our communications colleagues in the different operating countries. 

Your key responsibilities: 

• Both strategic communications planning as well as tactical delivery of the plan 

• Develop and manage YIT’s media relations in close collaboration with key stakeholders, with a focus in Finland 

• Partner with and support the Infrastructure segment in external and internal communications 

• Actively contribute to the team’s success, collaborate and share ideas, with the capability to execute the plans independently with high quality and integrity 

What we expect from you: 

• You have a master’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate communications, ideally in a public company environment 

• Proven track record in media relations and crisis communications, existing media relations in Finland 

• Good knowledge and extensive experience of social media channels and other relevant tools for stakeholder communications, capability to create interesting and engaging content for various audiences and channels, utilizing data and analytics 

• Hands-on mentality with a creative mindset 

• Strong networking and communications skills in an international environment 

• Experience in leading and managing complex communications projects, with both strategic understanding as well as a hands-on approach 

• Fluency in Finnish and English languages, passion for writing
