Job Summary

The Email Marketing Specialist is responsible for building, deploying, and optimizing email campaigns in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Pardot. Ensures quality, compliance, audience targeting, and performance reporting while supporting lifecycle journeys, platform enhancements, and collaborative marketing execution. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build, test, and deploy marketing emails using approved templates and content, ensuring brand consistency and quality.
  • Create and manage email campaigns and related assets within Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or Salesforce Account Engagement (Pardot), including campaign setup and configuration.
  • Load and manage target lists/segments, support audience selection, and coordinate list hygiene activities to improve deliverability and performance.
  • Support development and execution of lead nurturing and lifecycle email journeys, including triggered and recurring communications.
  • Perform QA prior to sends (links, personalization, rendering, accessibility checks, compliance elements), and troubleshoot issues to ensure accurate distribution.
  • Coordinate compliance review requirements for email content and ensure required CAN-SPAM elements and other regulatory disclosures are present.
  • Track and report email performance (e.g., delivered, opens, clicks, CTR, conversions) and provide insights/recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Marketing and Technology stakeholders to support platform maintenance and enhancements, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Maintain documentation for recurring email processes and procedures to support continuity and audit readiness.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency with email marketing/marketing automation platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Salesforce Account Engagement (Pardot)).
  • Working knowledge of email compliance requirements (e.g., CAN-SPAM).
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control skills (proofing, link validation, segmentation checks, and pre-send QA).
  • Ability to manage multiple requests, prioritize workflow, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret performance metrics and translate results into optimization recommendations.
  • Able to work with data inputs (lists, segments, data extensions) and maintain organized documentation for repeatable execution.
  • PC and Microsoft Office Suite product proficiency.

Industry and Work Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant email marketing or marketing operations experience required.
  • Financial services or a regulated industry experience preferred.

Academic

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field required.
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Marketing Specialist certification preferred.
