The Career Pathways team within the Office of External Collaboration and Innovation is dedicated to supporting students as they explore and pursue diverse, purpose-driven futures in engineering and beyond. We empower students to identify and navigate pathways in industry, entrepreneurship, research, graduate education, and social impact through inclusive programming.

What You Will Do

The Employer Engagement (EE) Consultant in the Cornell Duffield College of Engineering’s Office of External Collaboration and Innovation cultivates and manages strategic relationships with employers who recruit Cornell Duffield Engineering students. EE consultants are well versed in the benefits of hiring Cornell University undergraduate, professional, and graduate students and work to further connections among corporate partners and help them build effective recruitment strategies. While closely connected to their college academic programs, EE consultants are trained and able to discuss and strategize about recruitment opportunities across Cornell’s schools and colleges, based on the goals of their employer partners. The EE Consultant will also identify employer targets and conduct outreach to employers to recruit at Cornell. The EE Consultant will utilize the career services’ CRM to effectively track and coordinate employer engagement.  The goals of the position are to increase job posting, recruitment, and hiring activity for the university's students and graduates through strong employer partnerships.

The EE Consultant works within the larger Cornell Career Development Network as a member of the employer relations team and works collaboratively with the Director of Employer Engagement (University Career Development) and other ER Managers to further a “One Cornell” strategy for employer engagement. Additionally, the EE Consultant builds partnerships with academic departments and student organizations in their college who engage in recruitment with employers.
 

The Employer Engagement (EE) Consultant for Cornell Duffield Engineering is responsible for cultivating and managing strategic partnerships with employers seeking to engage with Cornell Duffield Engineering talent at all degree levels. With in-depth knowledge of the strengths and skills of Cornell Duffield Engineering across majors, M.Eng. fields, and graduate fields, the EE Consultant advises employer partners on effective, inclusive recruitment strategies that align with their university recruiting goals. A core function of the role involves identifying and targeting prospective employers in the engineering and technical sectors, conducting proactive outreach to expand Cornell’s employer base, and deepening employer engagement. The EE Consultant utilizes the university’s career services CRM to coordinate and track employer interactions, ensuring a data-driven approach to relationship management and recruitment activity.
