This role spends 60% or more of the workweek in classrooms, directly supporting teachers and children, ensuring instructional quality, classroom consistency, and positive learning experiences. When classroom support is not needed, the Assistant Director assists with administrative and operational responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Support teachers and students through regular in-classroom guidance and assistance
- Oversee daily preschool operations including staffing support, quality assurance, and faculty coordination
- Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with families
- Ensure compliance with all Maryland childcare licensing regulations
- Model professionalism, positivity, and flexibility in a fast-paced early childhood setting
- Assist with administrative functions as assigned by the School Director
- Demonstrate excellent organization, time management, and multitasking skills
- Uphold a strong commitment to child development and early education excellence
- Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or a related field (required)
- Management or leadership experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or early learning program (preferred)
- Strong Leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to coach, mentor, and collaborate with teaching staff
- Passion for working with young children and supporting educators
