Position Purpose:

Manage the contracting, procurement and administration of IT hardware, software, and technical service. Directs all I/S asset purchasing, receiving and deployment activities. Maintain and manage software license information and updates.

Logistics:

This is a full time (40/hrs a week Mon-Fri), and fully onsite position located in Columbia, SC. This is a fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer. Some travel between office buildings may be required.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for recruiting and hiring, coaching and mentoring, monitoring and evaluation, and addressing all disciplinary issues in a timely manner. Encourage staff in creating and maintaining a work environment with high morale and employee satisfaction through support of professional development, training, career growth, and rewarding high performance.
  • Recommend and establish strategy and standardized processes and procedures consistent with department, company and federal policies and guidelines to support the effective receipt and deployment of IT assets.
  • Manage the activities of the IT procurement function, including the full cycle of all IT purchases, agreements, and contracts from initiation to completion. Manage the purchasing system by designing or redesigning workflow as needed, creating standard and ad-hoc reports.
  • Manage and train staff in the laws of purchasing, contract administration, asset receiving, inventory control and asset deployments.
  • Manage supplier relationships and service level administration for vendors. Evaluates supplier base for cost savings opportunities. Develop processes to ensure software-licensing compliance.
  • Act as a liaison between I/T and vendors in major dispute resolution concerning supplier performance.

To Qualify for This Position, You’ll Need:

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's


Required Work Experience:

  • 7 Years of job-related IT experience with some prior team lead, supervisor, or management experience OR equivalent military experience in grade E4 or above.


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrated flexibility for adapting to both changing business and client needs, and a changing technical environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge base in related area.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent and effective communication, customer service and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex information with understanding to a variety of audiences who have different levels of experience and knowledge.
