Job Description
As the Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer at CRB, you'll have the unique opportunity to work within an integrated Architecture, Engineering, and Construction firm capable of executing ONEsolution integrated project delivery work. How will I contribute?
The Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer is responsible for overseeing the discipline at a project level and managing the project discipline budget on simple to complex projects of all sizes. The Lead Engineer has a thorough understanding of the development and field implementation of documents through all project phases. The Lead Engineer possesses the ability to coordinate with internal and external parties, manage multiple complex tasks, establish priorities and direct the work of others. The Lead Engineer may work independently or at the direction of the Project Manager.
The Engineer Mechanical SME possesses exceptional technical knowledge of certain aspects of systems. This role develops standard methods, trains and mentors’ staff, and performs quality reviews for the discipline. This role may serve in a technical leadership role on projects.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for directing and managing the workflows and execution of design and engineering support staff (Entry-Level to Senior) to meet client expectation and project goals
- Coordinate with internal and external parties, manage multiple complex tasks, establish priorities and direct the work of others.
- Work with a Project Manager to proposal development, man-hour planning, project scheduling for the discipline scope of work on advanced level projects.
- Identify and resolve advanced non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveys
- Attend external seminars/conferences for professional development preferred
- Develop advanced internal mechanical design and engineering training presentations
- Develop construction drawing packages and write construction specifications on advanced and complex projects without oversight
- Lead and advanced support of construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development, and construction progress reports
- Conduct technical and leadership interviews
- Conduct quality checking of documents for advanced complex projects, e.g., technical verification of design calculations and documentation, and drive overall project quality
- Provide mentorship to Mechanical Discipline Engineer I, II, and III and/or Designer I, II, an III
- Lead advanced project system design programming and master planning with support from Senior Engineer
- Lead a team of mechanical staff in the execution of advanced projects discipline design and engineering
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (alternatively, a Bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical Option)
- Minimum of 15 years of experience required for Senior Lead position, preferably in a design firm setting
- Minimum of 20 years of experience for Senior or SME position, preferably in a design firm setting
- Professional Registration (Licensure)
Additional Qualifications
- Proficiency AutoCAD and Revit preferred
- Proficiency in discipline specific software required
- LEED, WELL, or other sustainable design accredited pr
