Our work depends on a Network Engineer Senior joining our team to support ADCS activities at Hampton, Virginia and/or Panama City, Florida.
The Staff Network Engineer/Administrator Senior role is to ensure the stable operation of the computer networks. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. The candidate will also analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Analyzes local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices
Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
Resolves interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms including email, file transfer, multimedia, teleconferencing, and the like
Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
Performs various tests and documents results; administers and maintains local and wide area networks
Provides second level technical support to users concerning network system operations.
Plans network layout design; may administer network security.
May provide guidance and training to lower-level personnel and serve as technical team or task lead.
Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network connected end-user hardware, software, and peripheral devices
Manage security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Must have at least 5 years’ related network design/administration experience with a BS/BA or 9 years of experience without degree.
Requires knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network administration and engineering
Experience and training with virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
Experience and training with CISCO network devices (Switches, Routers, Firewalls, etc.)
Experienced in applying patches/updates and STIGs to routers and systems
Possess and maintain a minimum of IAT level II or IAM level II certification IAW the DoD directive 8140.01Cyberspace Workforce Management.
