The Physical Security Technology Lead will be responsible for daily support of the security technology systems at Brown Advisory, to include, alarms, access control measures, visitor management systems, and other related components. This position will also lead the design, installation, and maintenance of all physical security technology platforms. This role will supervise our global badging administration process and ensure that all security systems are maintained to standards. S/he will ensure successful and timely completion of physical security technology projects at Brown Advisory, including but not limited to, office moves, new office buildouts, physical office expansions, and system updates.

This role will work closely with internal stakeholders and security vendors to ensure the successful installation of security devices and all associated parts.  This role will include travel and support across our offices.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Team Lead across multiple facets of the Security work streams to keep Physical Technology systems operating and ensure Security and our vendors are meeting project goals.
  • Work with external vendors to accomplish a set of tasks
  • Supervise and coordinate vendor visits to ensure site work is completed
  • Identify and document system improvements, maintenance requirements, and installation design schematics.
  • Take ownership of tasks to see them to their resolution and ensure needs are met

Job Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Experience configuring and administering 3rd-party physical security software solutions.
  • Experience designing and installing the following: access control, surveillance/camera systems, intrusion and alarm systems
  • Understand how to read construction drawings and markups as needed for installations
  • Understanding of electric circuits and low voltage applications.
  • Experience working with and keeping vendors and installers on track
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic working environment
  • Team-player

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced training and experience in a technical discipline is preferred
  • Familiarity with various access control and camera systems and technical certifications in their installation or administration.

Technical Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Physical Security Technology experience in the following areas: access control, surveillance/cameras, intrusion detection and alarm, and visitor management systems.
  • Advanced understanding of Physical Security Technology and IT infrastructure requirements
  • Experience managing vendors and working with building personnel to get security technology services installed and integrated.
  • Experience with architectural design drawings and construction processes to include cabling, electrical, and ADA considerations when designing security systems.
  • Experience with network devices, including an understanding of VLANs, DHCP, and network scanning and mapping.
  • Overnight, weekend, and on-call capabilities to address system outages and after-hours maintenance requirements.

Travel Requirements:

  • 50% Travel to new and temporary office locations across the US and abroad is expected

Salary: $90-140k. Commensurate with experience and location. Does not include bonus or long term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
