Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated individual to carry out administrative support and responsibilities for the CDCS Chief, section managers and regional CDCS staff. Supervises the CDCS clerical support unit consisting of staff responsible in maintaining complex records on all Illinois' reportable communicable diseases.

Essential Functions

  • Assists the Assistant Section Chief on matters of telecommunications, records and storage and other administrative aspects necessary to the operation of the CDCS.
  • Serves as working supervisor.
  • Serves as CDCS liaison with the Accounting/Fiscal Unit in handling Requests for Goods and Services orders and processing of vouchers for payment.
  • Responsible for maintaining accountability for financial transactions from General Revenue Funds and other fiscal transactions as appropriated for medical preparations.
  • Assists the Section Chief and staff on matters of communications in processing of memoranda, letters, reports and other written materials of a confidential nature.
  • Assists CDCS staff on personnel matters by preparing necessary paperwork to establish new positions and fill vacant positions within the CDCS.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
