Job Description
As Director, Legal - Products, Technology and IP, you will be responsible for:
· providing day-to-day comprehensive legal guidance and leadership for the product, engineering, and information security teams up to the senior management level on critical questions related to product and technology operations, regulation and commercialization and go-to-market strategies.
· responsible for bringing together the product development team, engineers and go-to-market teams and Legal to deliver successful collaboration on issues requiring specialized support such as: commercial software and technology licensing; encryption, sanctions and export controls; patents and other intellectual property rights; corporate development/M&A; international regulation and compliance.
· understanding our underlying technology, competitive landscape and overall business strategy, with subject matter expertise in bringing products to market, including open source licensing and AI.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Have a JD from an accredited law school, and be admitted to practice in a relevant jurisdiction
- Have a minimum of ten years, with at least seven years relevant post-qualification experience, ideally with both law firm and in-house experience advising on technology law issues.
- Be fluent in both English and German.
Preferred Requirements:
Have expertise in, and an intense curiosity for, core legal issues related to technology and innovation law; and a robust technology affinity and understanding of cloud-based and AI technologies and corresponding legal issues.
Have experience structuring, drafting and negotiating complex commercial arrangements and technology licensing agreements.
Have experience managing global clients and international regulatory issues related to technology.

Compensation and rewards
- The salary range for this role is $180,000 - $210,000. When determining your salary, we consider your experience, skills, education, and work location.
- Our total compensation package includes unlimited personal time off, an employee stock purchase plan, and a reward system.
- We also offer medical/dental benefits, and a company matching 401(k) plan for retirement.
