Summary
This position is located in the Operations Division of Metro Water Services in a Water Treatment Plant, a Wastewater Treatment Plant, or in Field Services and performs skilled work involved in the installation, operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
Work requires some physical exertion such as walking, climbing, bending, stooping, stretching, or similar activities. Employees will be required to work indoors and outside in all weather conditions in potentially hazardous conditions, and may be exposed to chemicals and other contaminants.

Examples of duties
- Repairing and servicing equipment in an industrial environment.
- Conducting and participating in preventative maintenance inspections.
- Coordinating the maintenance and repair activities with appropriate personnel.
- Inspecting new installations to ensure compliance with department specifications.
Qualifications
High School Diploma and two (2) years' experience maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment (such as large industrial pumps, treatment plants and conveyance systems, etc.).No Substitution.
LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid Driver License

Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
