The Warehouse Operator/Driver performs a variety of shipping and receiving tasks. Verifies materials received are as ordered and routes incoming items to appropriate locations. Prepares items for shipment ensuring proper documents are attached to shipments. Operator Synergy owned vehicle (truck or van) to transport equipment and materials to and from local locations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares customer orders for shipments. Checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct. Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from suppliers. Process packages via UPS Worldship and FedEx Ship Manager. Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor purchasing and quality control personnel. May be Department of Transportation’s Hazardous Materials Regulations (49CFR, Parts 171-180) Certified. May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink-wrap machine. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Assist other departments with requests such as inventory needs, samples, etc. Performs daily checklist to ensure Synergy vehicle is in good operating condition. Drive Synergy vehicle to and from local locations delivering and picking up equipment and materials. Follow and adhere to all traffic laws.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- HS Diploma/GED Preferred
- Must have a general knowledge of workplace safety and quality processes including GMP’s & Allergens
- Class B driver license or ability to obtain.
- Must have 3 years of clean driving record.
- Required for position employee must successfully pass DOT medical examination with doctors’ approval.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Fork truck certification.
- Must follow safety requirements and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including steel-toed shoes, safety goggles and a mask as necessary
- Attention to detail and ability to perform basic mathematics required
- Problem solve and communicate when something is wrong and to recognize/report the problem
- When required for the position, the employee must be able to wear a respirator with Doctor’s approval and successfully pass the respiratory and pulmonary function testing
- Ability to:
- Work overtime when necessary
- Learn and consistently complete required documentation and record-keeping requirements
- Learn and consistently follow operational and cleaning procedures
- manually lift 50 lbs. continuously when necessary
