Position Function

Under the general administrative direction of the Senior Director of Care Management, the OCOK Clinical Director is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of the clinical aspects and functions of OCOK. The position provides direct supervision for the CANS Assessment Manager, Therapeutic Services Manager, Provider Relations Manager and the Manager of Youth Services. Ensures that youth and families referred to the Agency are receiving the appropriate services in accordance with OCOK regulations, contract requirements and Agency policy/procedures. Promotes the well-being of children and families, participates in staff meetings/trainings, and coordinates with staff from other agencies involved in providing services to children and families. 


Educational Requirements: A Master’s degree in a clinical field such as Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or Marriage and Family Therapy. 


Experience Requirements: Independent clinical license preferred. LCAA or LCPA licensure preferred. Five years of direct supervision experience in a clinical setting. Child-Placing Agency or Child Protective Services experience given preference. Experience with stepping children down out of residential services into home environments that can meet their therapeutic needs given preference. 


Functional Requirements

The OCOK Clinical Director ensures that the clinical and contract outcome goals for the department are achieved. Clinical Director will be responsible for providing leadership to the Therapeutic Care Coordination staff to ensure that related contractual requirements from the SSCC contract are met. They will be to ensure that children with high needs are able to be placed into the least restrictive, closest to home placements that can meet their therapeutic needs. The OCOK Clinical Director will be responsible for providing the leadership to the Manager of Youth Services who oversees the Connections teams and PAL program and will ensure that all contract outcomes and goals are met by those departments. Additionally, the Clinical Director oversees the OCOK CANS Assessment Manager, responsible for the management of the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths Assessment (CANS) Assessor unit operations. The OCOK Clinical Director is also responsible for overseeing the Provider Relations Manager who is responsible for facilitating the Quality Committee and ensuring any network quality improvement plans for providers are developed and implemented as necessary, as well as provides support to providers who are new to our network or need additional support. Demonstrate good judgment, the ability to work independently. Demonstrate an ability to continue learning through supervision, continuing education, and experience. Must be able to handle a high degree of emotional stress related to client issues. Must have excellent writing skills and the ability to complete reports and documents in a timely manner. Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and have a driving record, which is within guidelines of the insurance underwriter. Must not have been convicted of a felony or criminal offense against a child.


Working Conditions:

Position includes exposure to parents, guardians, and conservators as well as to youth with behavioral problems, including possible physical aggression. A personal vehicle is required for travel. The position requires some travel to support program activities or for training. The position provides on-call support for program supervisors 24/7. The position will include exposure to clients with behavior problems, including possible physical aggression. There is potential of exposure to illness and blood due to the service population. Extended walking and standing daily. The position is sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics. 


Exposure to Confidential Information:

The OCOK Clinical Director will have access to confidential records including agency, youth and family’s files. Must maintain confidentiality and follow policies related to personnel records and client records.
