THE VENUE:

View Boston, which encompasses the top three floors of the Prudential Tower, will feature immersive experiential exhibits and a bistro on the 50th floor, an indoor/outdoor cocktail lounge with a 360-degree outdoor viewing deck on the 51st floor, and a double high (24-foot) indoor viewing space on the 52nd floor. THE ROLE

The Food Runner is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experience by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of food orders from the kitchen to our guests. The food runner works closely with the kitchen and front of house staff to maintain a smooth and efficient dining experience in our dynamic, high-traffic attraction environment, in the Beacon Bistro & Stratus.

ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests in a timely, efficient, and safe manner, utilizing key information on kitchen tickets including table and seat numbers.
  • Ensure all items are presented properly according to View Boston standards.
  • Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to ensure accuracy of orders.
  • Assist with table maintenance, including clearing and resetting as needed.
  • Uphold cleanliness and organization in food service areas.
  • Assist bussers as needed with clearing tables, especially with large parties and during peak periods.
  • Provide friendly, helpful service to guests and answer questions as needed.
  • Support servers, bartenders, and the culinary team during peak hours and special events.
  • Provide guidance to guests including dining options and general attraction information.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by F&B Manager and View Boston Management team.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality setting preferred.
  • 1-2 Years experience in a Food Runner or Busser role preferred. 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to skillfully carry three entrée plates at the same time for long distances up to 150 ft.
  • Ability to retain and recite menu details.
  • Understanding of the expo process in a fine dining restaurant.
  • Ability to read kitchen tickets and understand seat numbers, table numbers and course breakdowns.
  • Ability to effectively listen and take directions from supervisor.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Flexible schedule includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
