The Sr. Quality Engineering Staff Manager will demonstrate technical expertise and leadership for a variety of responsibilities. In this role, you will assist the COE in developing a strategic vision for the area, lead the quality engineers, and execute priorities to support the vision through project leadership, mentorship, technical expertise, and tactical execution.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Own the strategic vision for product and process quality across cells and COE.
  • Partner with cell leadership to establish a robust audit plan and support key actions.
  • Mentor and coach manufacturing and quality engineers on process improvement and quality systems.
  • Provide leadership on Built in Quality sustainment and maturity to meet defect and COPQ reduction targets.
  • Drive simplification and reporting solutions to improve response time and issue resolution.
  • Lead customer resolution and facilitate RCA activities across the COE.
  • Drive a robust training program for manufacturing processes and quality systems.
  • Maintain and improve process documentation and facilitate best practice sharing across the COE.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college OR a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of manufacturing or similar industry experience 
  • Minimum of 6 additional years of experience in Production Process and Equipment.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future
  • This position is required to work onsite 100% at our GE Vernova Greenville, SC plant

Desired Characteristics

  • Expertise in Preventive Quality tools and methodologies, preferably in automotive and/or aerospace industries.
  • Deep understanding of Lean principles
  • Ability to teach and coach others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Experience implementing lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills.
  • Proven analytical, organizational ability, and deep technical expertise.

Pay Transparency

The base pay range for this position is  103,100.00 - 137,400.00 - 171,800.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
