GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Foundation Supervisor, the Gift Shop Associate is responsible for the regular operations of the Broadlawns Medical Center Gift Shop. This position manages retail activities, including inventory ordering and control, merchandising, point-of-sale operations, volunteer coordination within the shop, and customer service to patients, visitors, and staff. The Associate ensures the Gift Shop operates efficiently, maintains an inviting retail environment, and supports revenue generation for the Foundation.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily Operations
1.    Manage regular Gift Shop operations.
2.    Ensure that opening and closing procedures are met according to established protocols.
3.    Provide excellent customer service.
4.    Maintain a clean, organized retail environment.

Inventory Management & Merchandising
5.    Order merchandise and maintain inventory levels.
6.    Receive, price, and stock merchandise.
7.    Enter ordered items into the point-of-sale system.
8.    Maintain attractive displays and seasonal merchandising.
9.    Rotate merchandise and manage promotional items.

Financial & Sales Responsibilities
10.    Operate point-of-sale system and handle transactions.
11.    Ensure daily receipts and deposits are reconciled.
12.    Track sales and inventory data and report to the Foundation Specialist.
13.    Support profitability goals and budget adherence.

Volunteer Coordination
14.    Train and support Gift Shop volunteers in retail procedures.
15.    Assist with volunteer scheduling for shop coverage.
16.    Provide guidance to volunteers during shifts.

Retail Initiatives & Promotions
17.    Support vendor events, promotions, and apparel sales.
18.    Assist with merchandise selection recommendations.
19.    Coordinate special sales and seasonal activities.

Foundation Support
20.    Provide awareness of Foundation initiatives through customer interactions.
21.    Assist with Foundation events as requested.
22.    Performs other duties as assigned. 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. 1-2 years Retail Experience.
2. Detail oriented and highly organized.
3. Ability to represent the organization during evening and weekend hours if/as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1.    Event planning and volunteer experience.
2.    Experience in a healthcare setting.
