Coatings Outside Sales Representative

Hood Distribution is a market leader in wholesale distribution of hardwood and softwood lumber, plywood, and panels, wood finishes and stains as well as a variety of other construction products in the retail lumber industry, cabinet shops, millwork houses and similar businesses. We are looking for a Coatings Outside Sales Representative in the Tucson, AZ area. This position reports directly to the Branch Manager and is responsible for maintaining existing and establishing new customers in their territory for paints and stains products to the cabinet and millwork industry and the construction and architecture industry. Job Responsibilities: •    Service existing accounts, obtaining orders, and establishing new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule. Present, promote and sell products and services.
•    Improves profitability, product penetration and product mix with all customers.
•    Develop sales solutions and competitive pricing strategies. Communicates value propositions to customers and re-evaluate solutions where necessary.
•    Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
•    Close sales opportunities by gaining purchase order.
•    Interact with mix specialist on customer orders and services.
•    Follow up with customers on outstanding issues, complaints etc.
•    Submits weekly activity reports Job Requirements: •    Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred; or equivalent related sales experience.
•    1-3 years in the paint and stain industry or related sales experience.
•    Ability to work directly with customers and identify the decision maker to drive sales.
•    Good verbal communication and public speaking. Bi-lingual a plus.
•    Analytical and persuasive skills, ability to multi-task effectively.
•    Excellent planning, organizational and territory management skills.
