ABOUT THE ROLE
Under the direction of a member of the Undergraduate Admission Senior Team (Associate Director or Director), the Assistant Director of Admission (Data Analysis) recruits and works to enroll qualified students for admission in accordance with all applicable internal and external policies and regulations.
This role includes required travel. This could be up to 4-6 weeks of travel in the fall and up to 4 weeks in the spring. It is expected that this role will specifically work within a domestic territory to be assigned based upon availability and need. Please note that there will be occasional evening and weekend commitments, most frequently between September and May.
The cyclical nature of a role in an admissions office means that the Assistant Director of Admission (Data Analysis) will have responsibilities that ebb and flow throughout the year. For someone starting in August, immediate focus will be on preparing for recruitment travel domestically. Fall recruitment travel takes place roughly from September to November. On November 1 attention shifts to application evaluation and, what we refer to as “reading season,” lasts through mid-March. At this time, large-scale event participation to impact student matriculation will be prioritized through May. June through August is typically project-heavy preparing for the next admissions cycle.
This work environment is one that is consistently changing. Please note that most of the year involves ample time in transit (car and airplane) as well as front-facing engagement with prospective students, their families, and their counselors all of whom bring specific cultures, contexts, and questions to each conversation (standing, walking, and sitting in an office space).
The specific project work required for this role revolves around data analysis in three specific areas: application review, territory management/strategy and diversity recruitment efforts. The individual in this role will be leaned on to provide analysis as needed, dependent upon the requirements of the office at that time.
