Description

Novaspect, Inc., an Emerson Impact Partner, the global leader of automation systems and solutions, is currently offering an opportunity for an experienced Field Service Engineer - Control Systems on our customer-oriented, fast-paced Field Service team servicing our Superior WI customer. 


The successful candidate will assist our automation and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) customers in developing, delivering, maintaining, and optimizing our state-of-the-art automation and advanced controls solutions.

 
Field Service Engineer Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 


Work with our customers to become a Trusted Advisor by: 

  • Actively listening and communicating to accomplish customer’s objectives. 
  • Providing ongoing site support, which may include: 
  • Distributed Control System configuration, commissioning, startup, and tuning. 
  • Distributed Control System, field instrumentation, and system related troubleshooting and problem resolution. 
  • Performing basic to complex Loop tuning.  
  • Creating and managing interfaces to PLCs, drives, and various control bus networks. 
  • Performing basic to complex cybersecurity maintenance. 
  • Setting up and configuring Microsoft Windows administrator functions. 
  • Creating and managing ethernet IP networks. 
  • Leading preventive maintenance visits. 
  • Auditing control system power and grounding. 
  • Setting up and configuration of Operational Analytics, Product Data Management, and Operations Management Systems. 

Provide clear and frequent communications by: 

  • Performing basic to complex diagnostic and troubleshooting over the phone or video and in person. 
  • Creating and delivering detailed and professional engineering reports. 

Work as a team by: 

  • Working cooperatively with others, sharing knowledge, lessons learned, and participating in or leading team meetings and projects where solutions are developed, ideas are exchanged, and processes are improved. 
  • Helping colleagues as they encounter situations. 
  • Participating in and supporting the Novaspect’s technical access line (NTA). 
  • Mentoring other Control System Engineers. 

Work to grow Novaspect as an employee-owner by:  

  • Representing Novaspect’s core behaviors, quality, customer service and brand. 
  • Developing advanced skills and knowledge in general controls systems, infrastructure, and operational technology. 
  • Complying with internal and customer safety programs. 


Requirements

Field Service Engineer - Control Systems Education and/or Experience:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology field

· 3-5 years of experience in the control system engineering field programming from scratch and making modifications to code required

· 3-5 years DeltaV experience preferred or 5-7 years in another DCS/PLC experience required

· Field application of industrial instrumentation preferred

· Microsoft administration and TCP\IP networking knowledge is a plus

· Emerson Product Knowledge is a plus


Field Service Engineer - Control Systems Additional Requirements:

· Own and maintain an individual learning and development plan of continuous learning, including soft skills and the latest technologies

· Ability to travel throughout the designated service area is required. Typically, travel is by company vehicle and most events are day trips and possibly overnight stays depending on your home base and customer needs.


Field Service Engineer - Control Systems Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift 30lbs

· Ability to work extended hours on a computer

· Ability to work in a loud industrial environment


Field Service Engineer - Control Systems Pay:

· Cash compensation potential: $87,000-$134,000 (inclusive of base, bonus, OT)

· Company car eligible

· OT eligible
