About the job 

Oracle is seeking a Director to help drive Public Relations and Analyst Relations for two of its key business areas – Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle Database. 

As part of the global communications team, you will play a key role in telling our story. We are looking for a self-starter with a strong professional presence, exceptional writing, critical thinking, and project management skills. Must have deep knowledge of the enterprise technology space and the media and industry analyst landscape. 

You should be results oriented, have a strong intellectual curiosity, be comfortable working within a matrixed organization, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Create unique story angles that make Oracle product and customer news interesting to top tier media and industry analyst firms. 
  • Develop and execute PR and AR programs—building and maintaining reporter and analyst relationships, managing engagements, and securing positive coverage. 
  • Engage with the global communications team, senior executives, and other groups across marketing, development, sales, and customer references to uncover story angles and proof points to positively impact media coverage and our placement in key reports.
  • Develop and implement integrated communications plans to maximize the reach and impact of news announcements.
  • Conceptualize and write content such as press releases, blogs, social media posts, and contributed articles.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, key media and analysts, and influencers. 
  • Develop executive communications materials including scripts, briefing books, executive talking points, and keynote decks.
  • Support the development of product messaging and positioning and develop narratives that help drive awareness of OCI and Oracle Database among target audiences. 
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct customer reference interviews to support PR and AR activities.
  • Develop social media content to support product announcements, promote reports, and key marketing campaigns.
  • Provide strategic counsel to product strategy and product marketing teams based on insights gained from analyst research and feedback/input.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in Oracle technology, issues that impact our business, and the competitive landscape.

 

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or Public Relations preferred.
  • 12+ years experience working with industry analysts and enterprise tech media.
  • Deep knowledge in enterprise technology areas including cloud computing, database, artificial intelligence, security, application development, and analytics.
  • Ability to provide communications support and counsel to global colleagues.
  • Strong, pre-existing relationships with technology reporters and industry analysts.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and project management skills, and ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Strong project and people/organization management skills and experience working with high standards under tight deadlines.

US: Hiring Range: from $109,100 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
