ShiftMed is looking for a competent Legal Analyst to support the Legal Department on a variety of tasks, with a focus on managing the Company’s response to unemployment insurance claims across the country. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional able to undertake a variety of legal and compliance-support tasks in a dynamic remote environment.

About your role:
- Serve as an expert for screening claims and responding to state unemployment claim requests via paper, online or through our online platform within a timely manner
- Responsible for analyzing and responding to a large quantity of claim-related documents within pre-determined time limits
- Receive and prioritize claims, questionnaires and other unemployment-related data
- Attend and serve as the company representative in unemployment hearings, including providing sufficient information and argument to appeal unemployment claim determinations
- Analyze individual case information by reviewing data accessed through an online platform to determine which documented facts need to be submitted to support each claim
- Provide complete responses, including details regarding inactivated, terminated, or other employee related claims
- Respond to any state agency requests with all pertinent details within the time frame allowed by the state or departmental procedures
- Initiate timely telephone calls, or emails to internal coworkers to obtain, document, or pass along needed information
- Ensure that work is accurate and complete, processed in a timely manner with proper spelling and grammar
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the legal and compliance department
Requirements and skills:
- Bachelor's degree required, Juris Doctor is a bonus
- Previous remote corporate office experience with an emphasis on organization of work duties and performing job functions independently
- Ability to work well under limited supervision.

- Computer Skills Required: * Proficiency with Microsoft Office PC applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe
