As a Lead Central Service Technician (CST III), you will play a critical role in supporting Surgical Services in the inpatient and outpatient areas by ensuring essential supplies are available and delivered, including supplies being picked for case carts in a timely, efficient manner. Based primarily at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center, you will oversee supply operations across multiple UCLA Health campuses.
In this leadership role, you will provide training, daily task assignments, and direction to CST staff to maintain smooth operations across all shifts. You’ll be responsible for maintaining PAR levels, coordinating inventory management, and ensuring top-tier customer service aligned with UCLA Health’s C-ICARE standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and train CST staff to ensure consistent, high-quality workflows.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor productivity across areas and shifts.
- Coordinate supply chain logistics: ordering, receiving, tagging, distributing, and restocking.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, perform physical counts, and manage stock levels.
- Clean, organize, and stock inventory rooms and workspaces.
- Respond to supply needs across multiple clinical units and off-site locations.
- Serve as a liaison to ensure timely fulfillment of all customer supply requests.
- Operate a University vehicle to deliver supplies as needed.
Job Qualifications

- Required to hold valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
- Ability to receive, lift, carry, push, pull, transport, and stock supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate a university vehicle to deliver supplies to multiple off-site locations
- Ability to understand and adhere to the healthcare regulations for infection control.
- Ability to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated basic knowledge of materials management information system and other vendor software.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
