Description
The Emergency Services Shelter Supervisor (ESSS) is a full-time, non-exempt position of Denver Rescue Mission (DRM). The ESSS reports directly to the Director of Fort Collins Rescue Mission (FCRM) and is responsible for upholding the policies as set forth by the Board of Directors.
The purpose of the Emergency Services Shelter Supervisor position is to provide direct oversight of the staff and facility at Fort Collins Rescue Mission. The shifts may vary due to Emergency Shelter needs. This position will be on site primarily when the shelter is operating.
Hiring Range: $24.04 - $30.05 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations and Administrative Duties
- Assist in the coordination of repairs and issue resolution through communication with the responsible parties, keeping the Director of FCRM informed of issues and progress.
- Assist the accounting department in securing signed Time and Effort Reports for the City of Fort Collins contract
- Provide the work hours needed to serve the poor and needy with staff, participants, and volunteers to ensure DRM continues strong community relations.
- Ensure all necessary supplies are on-hand to operate each facility – including cleaning supplies, sheets, blankets, towels, mats/mattresses, furniture, etc.
- Coordinate the delivery of supplies to shelters with MOC and Operations Department.
- Work with the DRM Maintenance Department and contracted shelter contacts to address any maintenance issues in a timely manner at DRM properties.
- In cooperation with the Director, approve timecards for all staff assigned to FCRM.
- Serve as “Safety Coordinator” for Emergency Shelter locations or appoint appropriate staff – serving on DRM’s Safety Council and working alongside Operations staff from other DRM facilities, ensuring the overall safety and security of the Overflow Shelters.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Director of FCRM.
Safety and Cleanliness
- Manage the Community Life Coordinator (CLC) team in utilizing De-escalation techniques in response to those resistant to staff, including tracking the training for Decoding Conflict on a monthly basis.
- Through personal efforts and/or supervision of the CLC staff team:
- Ensure that CLCs provide oversight to guests leaving the facility adhere to neighborhood agreements, applying appropriate “Asked to Leave” protocol as necessary
- Ensure that check-in/entrance and exit of shelter guests to and from FCRM is maintained according to policies and procedures.
- Ensure policies and procedures are upheld for the facility and associated services.
- Ensure that the interior of the facility, including common areas, chapels/classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, etc. are kept free of trash and personal belongings, and are cleaned on a scheduled basis.
- Ensure that bedding and towels are clean and available for guest use.
- Coordinate cleaning and laundry through guest assignments.
Basic Services
- Plan and implement shelter exits, coordinating as needed with FCRM staff.
- Evening - shelter bed/mat assignments and check-in.
- Oversee Shelter statistics, ensuring that statistics are entered into SCRIBE daily.
Supervision of Staff
- Provide direct supervision of Community Life staff, including daytime and overnight staff, bringing any areas of concern to the attention of the Director of FCRM.
- Under the advisement of the Director, coordinate with Human Resources to hire and onboard new employees; providing appropriate training to new staff.
