We are searching for the best talent for a Head, Practice Area Programming - AI/GenAI and Enterprise Capabilities for the JJ Learn organization located in New Brunswick, NJ.
This role will lead the global strategy to build enterprise-critical capabilities that transform how work gets done at J&J. AI/GenAI is a primary focus, alongside other future skills required to accelerate performance, productivity, and innovation, aligned with C.E.O. Leadership Behaviors. This global enterprise leadership role operates as a strategist, executive advisor, and change leader—translating business priorities, workforce needs, risk requirements, and technology trends into a measurable, multi-year capability portfolio. Leading a team of three direct reports and a broader partner ecosystem, the role defines the learning strategy, establishes outcomes and measurement, and drives adoption at scale. This role will ensure that capabilities are built responsibly, embedded in daily work, and deliver measurably impact. Success requires strong enterprise influence, partnering across HR, Digital and Technology, Legal/Privacy/Security, business and functional leaders as well as applicable J&J Councils (J&J AI Council, GenAI Council, Learn Councils).
Key Responsibilities
Define and lead the enterprise capability roadmap for AI and critical future skills, aligning learning investments to business strategy, workforce transformation priorities, and J&J’s Leadership Behaviors, to drive measurable impact on performance, productivity, and innovation.
Set the enterprise-wide capability strategies and outcomes for AI Literacy, AI Fluency (including responsible use in everyday workflows and decisions) and other priority capabilities aligned to evolving business priorities, workforce needs, and evolving technology trends.
Owns the measurement strategy, inclusive of defining metrics and experimental approaches that validate sustained behavior change and demonstrate business-relevant outcomes beyond activity.
Design and deliver scalable, end‑to‑end learning journeys for the applicable practice areas, building sustained capability over time and embedding skills into daily work.
Oversee responsible AI learning governance, in partnership with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, and Security—ensuring alignment to ethical use, risk requirements, and approved tools while enabling speed and experimentation.
Activate enterprise adoption through AI Accelerators and other amplification mechanisms to role‑model AI use, coach peers, and act as multipliers of adoption across the enterprise.
Drive a coordinated enterprise upskilling approach, partnering across all capability owners to ensure alignment, shared visibility, and consistent design and unified employee experience.
Lead a high-performing team and manage budget and vendor strategy, ensuring operational excellence, accessibility, and compliance across the portfolio.
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and steward of the external ecosystem, bringing insights on emerging trends, workforce implications, and capability priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 12+ years of progressive experience including 5+ years as a people leader
- Deep subject matter expertise and experience launching AI/GenAI/Digital and other enterprise-wide
