Are you looking for your next challenge? IDEXX has an exciting opportunity for a Senior QA Engineer to join a growing team focusing on a payment system.  As a Senior QA you’ll be able to come in and proactively lead establishing QA frameworks for the team, provide mentoring around QA best practice and be a part of building something from the ground up! 

This role can be remote or in person at our Maine office.

 

So, what does this team do? We are a payments team undergoing design and construction to ensure secure and reliable payments processing and user experience integration within IDEXX applications. We are starting an innovative project targeting three key aspects of payments processing: an implementation application, a robust payment processing engine, and the development of a user-friendly interface to be integrated into IDEXX applications. Joining the payments team provides a distinctive chance to contribute to a newly established team and the delivery of a payments platform that promises lasting value to IDEXX, our numerous veterinary practices, corporate accounts, and pet owners. 

  

As a member of the payments team, you'll engage in every facet of the software delivery lifecycle, spanning design, story writing, building, and testing. Collaborating within a dedicated software delivery team, our primary focus is on prioritizing quality to facilitate the secure and reliable expansion of our payments business.

A bit more about the role: 

 

  • You will set the quality process direction for technical staff and act as an internal quality consultant to advise or influence business or technical partners. 

  • You will determine, based on the project requirements, the best testing framework to utilize.   

  • You will develop and execute formal plans, procedures, and scenarios for manual and automated testing to ensure quality of software applications and architecture.    

  • You will review and assesses test coverage to ensure thorough quality review. This will include smoke, application, functional and regression testing. 

  • You will provide an appropriate level of testing to ensure that systems or applications are tested effectively prior to implementation. 

  • You will collaborate with other internal and external technical teams to partner and influence support issues and product design. 

  • You will create a partnership with the product owners to move projects to completion in an efficient, secure manner. 

  • You will think from a user perspective and share findings with the team. 

  • You will execute functional tests and report defects. 

  • You will advocate for awareness of Software Testing within the organization. 

  • You will collaborate with developers and the broader IDEXX global QA peers to learn, teach and experience everything the organization offers in technology.

  • Experience with automated testing using Cypress 

  • Understanding of Amazon Web Services resources and how they function. 

  • Knowledge writing SQL in databases such as MySQL. 

  • Experience creating test data to meet targeted test cases.  

  • Experience with Auth0 or similar Customer Identity and Access Management platform preferred. 

  • Experience with Datadog, AWS Cloudwatch, or similar application / infrastructure monitoring tools. 

  • Experience working on a cross functional Agile Scrum team.
