Overview

The Manager of Concourse Operations is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the arena’s merchandise operations, ensuring the efficient sale and distribution of event-related products. This includes managing inventory, coordinating with vendors and tour representatives, leading a team of part-time supervisors and sellers, and ensuring a positive customer experience at all points of sale. The Manager of Concourse Operations will also play a key role in supporting ancillary and smaller events within the arena, working closely with the Event Operations team.

 

This role pays an annual salary of $75,000-$85,000

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Merchandise Operations: Manage the setup, sales, and breakdown of merchandise at events, ensuring smooth operations from start to finish.
  • Inventory Management: Track inventory levels, order merchandise as needed, and ensure products are available in sufficient quantities for each event.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and train part-time supervisors and sellers, ensuring the team is fully equipped to deliver excellent service and achieve sales goals.
  • Event Coordination: Coordinate with event organizers, vendors, and tour managers to ensure timely delivery and proper display of merchandise.
  • Reporting & Data Management: Maintain accurate sales reports and inventory records, ensuring all transactions are tracked and reconciled. Provide insights to leadership for decision-making and future event planning.
  • Customer Experience: Ensure a high level of customer service, addressing issues or concerns related to merchandise sales and product availability.
  • Sales Strategy & Merchandising: Develop and implement strategies to drive merchandise sales, including creative displays, promotions, and pricing adjustments.
  • Event Support: Assist with smaller or ancillary events within the arena as needed, providing merchandise services and supporting the broader operations team.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all sales practices comply with company policies, local regulations, and health and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years related experience
  • Previous experience in event management, retail, or merchandise sales, preferably within an arena, stadium, or live event environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, train, and motivate part-time staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, vendors, and event organizers.
  • Proven ability to analyze sales data, manage inventory, and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for events.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems and inventory management tools.
  • Knowledge of merchandise trends and creative sales techniques.
  • Familiarity with arena or event venue operations.
