Associate Director - Clinical Risk Mgmt

Under the direction of the Regional Director of Clinical Risk Management, the Associate Director of Clinical Risk Management is responsible for collaborating on the development of clinical risk management initiatives and standard practices within the clinical risk management team, and for the orientation, supervision and evaluation of one or more clinical risk managers. The Associate Director of Clinical Risk Management may also have a clinical risk manager assignment with responsibility for the investigation of adverse events, near misses, and potential claims and suits and actively participating in developing and implementing loss prevention and risk mitigation methodologies and patient safety initiatives in assigned areas or entities. This includes gathering and analyzing data and preparing reports as well as keeping both MMCIP and client leaders informed about significant developments.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical health care with Master’s or JD degree preferred
• Three years nursing and/or other clinical experience required in special care units, ICU’s, ER, Shock Trauma, etc. Other clinical experience may be acceptable based on assigned areas of responsibility
• Current CPHRM certification
• At least 1 year of experience as a Senior Risk Manager
• Demonstrated leadership abilities

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s geographical location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/ training and other qualifications.
