Job Summary


This position will lead a team of primarily experienced professionals in Manufacturing Operations and will be responsible for all aspects of Manufacturing at the Simpsonville, SC location. Establishes key elements of tactical and operational plans with direct impact towards the achievement of results, with a focus on short to medium-term time horizons. Responsible for managing and monitoring cell performance and productivity, with focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Drives daily productivity and problem-solving through our Lean management system. Drives Lean implementation in manufacturing in alignment with the CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) and the Collins Management System. 

What You Will Do:

  • Accountable for Manufacturing at the Simpsonville, SC location holding overall responsibility for production of quality products in an efficient and timely manner.

  • Directs the development and implementation of activities in production areas to ensure timely, high-quality production at the lowest cost consistent with the quality requirements.

  • Responsible for manufacturing policy deployment, aligned with site business strategy and annual operating plan.

  • Provides leadership coaching and development for front-line supervisors and production team leads. 

  • Disciplined execution of the daily Lean management system, including Tiered accountability meetings, visual management systems, and leader standard work. Drive accountability to daily results and rapid corrective actions to overcome misses.

  • Responsible for training and overall development of the manufacturing team in alignment with business needs.  Responsibility for approximately 200 direct and indirect reports.

  • Champion for safety, quality improvement, and CORE programs across all manufacturing areas.

  • Drives implementation and standardization of best practices through standard work aligned with the TWI model.  This includes, but is not limited to, job instructions, job breakdown sheets, pre- and post-flight checklists, multi-cycle analysis, layered audits, and others as appropriate.

  • Drives development of a strong problem-solving culture, through application of CORE methods and coaching behaviors.

  • Ensures timely execution of manufacturing transactions in Epicor ERP system to ensure data accuracy.  Work with other areas to continuously improve data integrity.

  • Works with the planning and logistics teams to optimize scheduling and materials flow to support manufacturing operations, decreasing WIP while improving delivery.
