As the manager for the SmartRequest team you will be a major factor in growing our healthcare data ecosystem solution for our clients. SmartRequest is used by a wide variety of customers to gather data to help patients. Our mission is to provide a complete and seamless experience for our customers that simplifies the process of retrieving medical records. In the SmartRequest team, you’ll be instrumental in making our SmartRequest product into the industry’s leading solution for retrieving high quality medical records. Our current software stack is TypeScript and React on the frontend and python services on the backend.

What You Bring to the Table: 

• 5+ years of software engineering management experience, with experience managing and growing senior engineers;
• A love of distilling order from chaos and an allergy to accepting the status quo at face value;
• The ability to take ownership of an underspecified objective, tease out a clear goal that aligns with the business, discover the dependencies, create a plan, build cross-team and cross-functional support, engage your team, and deliver;
• Ability to successfully deliver projects that may span teams, with a time horizon of 12+ months;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (think Nonviolent Communication and Smart Brevity) with high EQ;
• Comfort working and managing remotely across timezones; and
• Excitement, passion, and curiosity about our mission of connecting the world’s health data and improving patient outcomes.

Our compensation philosophy is to be externally competitive, internally fair, and not win or lose on compensation. Salary ranges for this position are developed with the support of benchmarks and industry best practices.

The range posted is for a given job title, which can include multiple levels. Individual rates for the same job title may differ based on their level, responsibilities, skills, and experience for a specific job. The estimated salary range for this role is $220,000 - $280,000.

To ensure the safety of patients and staff, many of our clients require post-offer health screenings and proof and/or completion of various vaccinations such as the flu shot, Tdap, COVID-19, etc. Any requests to be exempted from these requirements will be reviewed by Datavant Human Resources and determined on a case-by-case basis.
