JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
This part time opening reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for the operation of the NCAA Division III varsity intercollegiate men’s golf program, including all aspects of coaching, recruiting, budgeting, scheduling and managing the intercollegiate program within the policies, and principles of Penn State University and the NCAA.
Job Duties
- Responsible for compliance with University policies, state laws, including those pertaining to required clearances, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Oversight of the activities of assistant coaches, staff, boosters and student athletes to verify compliance, with a mandate to self-report violations.
- Identify, evaluate, recruit, and retain prospective student athletes.
- Coordinate practice planning, skill development and design coaching strategies.
- Adhere to general and program-specific safety policies, including the communication and enforcement of safety practices; maintain certifications.
- Adhere to and support work unit’s strategic plan and adhere to established programming budget within University guidelines.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
May require the ability to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
Employment with the University for this job will require successful completion of the Pennsylvania (PA) Publicly Available Clearances: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and the FBI Criminal History Background Check.
Employment with the University for this opening will require the operation of a motor vehicle as a part of the job duties. A valid US driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
