Accounting Manager

Growth Acceleration Partners is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. As the Accounting Manager, you will oversee the financial operations of our company and ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting activities, preparing financial reports, developing and maintaining financial policies and procedures, and managing the accounting team.

We need someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and has a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). You should have experience in managing financial records and transactions, preparing financial statements, and implementing internal controls. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are also crucial for this role.

In addition to the technical skills, we are looking for a team player who can collaborate effectively with different stakeholders, including senior management, auditors, and other departments within the company. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures in compliance with GAAP
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Perform account analyses and reconciliations including bank reconciliations. 
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting packages.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
  • Collaborate with auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Provide financial analysis and support to senior management
  • Liaise with external tax accountant to ensure timely tax filings and payments
  • Assist with M&A transactions, including due diligence and financial statement review as needed

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, organized, and motivated individual with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 4+ years proven work experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role.
  • Willingness to work in the office a minimum of 2 days per week and to occasionally travel to Latin America.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
  • Extensive experience using Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc) and working in a  Google docs environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of reporting from ERP systems and spreadsheets
  • Basic knowledge of state and federal tax requirements including State income tax  and Sales tax helpful
  • Experience working with payroll systems and complying with labor laws in various  states helpful
