Job Summary

PSEG is looking for a Summer 2026 IT Intern for the Nuclear RealTime Systems Team.

This job involves working as a Real Time Systems Professional. Responsible for assisting Mentor in supporting nuclear plant RealTime systems (Nuclear Operations Real Time Data).

This position will be Onsite.

 

Job Responsibilities

Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas:

  • Assist in updating and supporting Nuclear Control Rooms’ Plant Computers (Nuclear Reactor Display Only Data).
  • Assist supporting Security System (IVMS) Video Monitoring System and gate log systems (Ingress and Egress physical plant access). 
  • Assist supporting Nuclear Core monitoring systems.
  • Assist with Nuclear Cyber Security tasks.
  • Assist supporting Plant Historian and M&D Center Data.
  • Assist in supporting Digital and I&C Engineering
  • Exercise good communication skills.  Prioritize and escalate high impact issues.
  • Support teammates and collaborate on ideas and solutions.
  • Invoke diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Build strong client relationships through excellence in customer support

Job Specific Qualifications

The successful incumbent(s) must be actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution in (Information Technology, Data Analytics or Engineering) and graduating between December 2026 and May 2029. Students graduating in May/June 2026 are not eligible unless they are enrolling in a post-graduate degree program in the fall term of 2026. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. incumbents must have completed (sophomore) level course work for consideration.

  • Because this position requires driving to various PSEG Locations, a valid driver’s license and clean driving history is required.
  • Self-starter with the demonstrated ability to learn new technical concepts quickly.
  • Detail oriented and demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills. 
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, IT management and other staff.
  • Must meet and maintain nuclear requirements for Unescorted Site Access.
  • A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation (see https://www.pseg.com/IDrequirement) is required for this position by May 7, 2027.
