OnsiteThis role is for an engineering student interested in understanding the various aspects of manufacturing, quality and industrial engineering. You will work with the sensor systems group concerning pitot-static probes, air temperature probes and light mechanical assembly. Typical summer internships at Collins aerospace include a combination of short-term daily tasks and summer length projects. Interns across the plant and across disciplines have multiple opportunities to meet and discuss roles.
What You Will Do:
Design and release production tooling
Work small research projects in coordination with a staff engineer
Assist with the development of capital project scope, research and justification.
Works with operations to improve existing manufacturing processes and work instruction.
Troubleshoots and solves production process problems with root cause analysis.
May make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials.
What You Will Learn:
- Basic introduction to engineering, working on short scope project
- Time management
- Iterative design process and use of creativity
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

Qualifications We Prefer:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with project management experience.
- Course of training in CAD tools and 3D printing.
- Proficiency with the MS Office Suite.
- Course of training in ProE Modeling
