Job Description

We seek a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join our team, primarily focusing on providing engineering support for our existing services (loosely coupled, event-based Kotlin backend services with SpringBoot and Hibernate). The successful candidate will have a solid background in our tech stack, including Java/Kotlin, Docker, and Spring Boot, and must be well-versed in AWS services such as SQS, SNS, and ECS. A strong understanding of SQL is also crucial for this role.

Engineering Support:

• Tackle and resolve support tickets related to our existing services promptly and efficiently. 
• Day-to-day monitoring of the processes and fixing the problem if it's broken.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues impacting service availability and performance.

Knowledge Gathering:

• Work closely with the existing engineering team to understand and document best practices, approaches, and valuable insights related to our technology stack and services.

Knowledge Transfer:

• Play a key role in transferring acquired knowledge to another team,
• Develop comprehensive documentation and training materials to facilitate the onboarding process for the new team.

Mentoring and Team Ramp-up:

• Provide mentorship and support to the new team by sharing your expertise and insights.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in the following technologies: Kotlin, Docker, Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in AWS services, particularly SQS, SNS, and ECS.
• Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Knowledge of the JVM internals, threads, and memory management - would be a big plus.
• Proven track record of resolving technical issues and providing engineering support.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
