Base salary starts at $16.52/hr.

 

Full-time Medical Assistant positions available in the following specialty clinics:

• Ear, Nose and Throat 
• Family Care and Pediatric
• Internal Medicine
• Orthopedics
• Podiatry
• Women's Health

 

E S S E N T I A L  F U N C T I O N S

• Assists provider in exam room as directed.
• Transcribes, utilizes and implements protocols and physician orders.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measures vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and documents all information in patient’s EHR. Properly utilizes the computer system for patient registration, ordering lab tests, receiving specimens and daily reports including trouble shooting.
• Perform EKG’s, point of care testing and assisting with procedures at the direction of the physician.
• Answering patient phone calls, routing patient’s questions to provider or RN as needed, returning phone calls to patient with provider or RN direction and scheduling patient appointments as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

E D U C A T I O N

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Partial college education preferred.

E X P E R I E N C E

• At least one (1) year in healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience in an outpatient clinic setting preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred for uncertified Medical Assistants.

C R E D E N T I A L S

• Current Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Must have current, valid BLS upon hire or must obtain within 60 days of hire, and must maintain credential throughout employment with IMH.

• Ability to learn and efficiently use an electronic medical health record (EHR).
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent customer service skills, including but not limited to: a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy and a helpful, professional attitude both in person and on the telephone.
• Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers and the general public verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate effective listening skills.
• Excellent organization and time management skills and ability to establish priorities effectively.
• Possess exceptional problem solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively without immediate supervision.
• Ability to learn new computer software programs.
• Ability to recognize and protect confidential information.
