Independently plan and provide professional nuedpolicies andprocedures. Work Performed

Plan, provide, su pelan of care based on assessment of thepatient's baseline needs and res ponse to care.Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licen sed andunlicensed care providers.Assist other nursing personnel in the d elf patients or an entire unitas assigned.Monitor and initiate correctiv eivery of nursing care and actas team leader or charge nurse for a group oaction to maintain the environment ofcare including equipment and mater isfor patients in accordance with physicianorders and established polici es and procedures. Use professional nursingjudgment to individualize the pal resources.Participate in own professional development by maintaining ies inaccordance with the scope ofthe RN as defined by the North Carolin requiredcompetencies, identifyinglearningneeds andseeking appropriateas sistance or educational offerings.Act as preceptor and support the devel opment of other staff and formallearners.Participate in the identificati on of clinical or operational performanceimprovement opportunities and i n performance improvement activities.Perform other related duties incide ntal to the work described herein.

Minimum Qualifications


Education

Work requires graduation from an accredited Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the BSN program within five years of their start date.


Experience

No experience required All CN Is will be enrolled in and must complete the DUHS Vizient Nurse Residency Program within 12 months of hire.


Degrees, Licensures, Certifications

Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
