Job Description:

   

The HPE Compute BU is seeking to define and deliver the next generation architecture and accelerate the development and delivery for embedded products and tools such as integrated Lights Out (iLO). Our team develops and maintains a modern, robust, and resilient CI/CD/CT pipeline and suite of automated tools, focusing on features that provide more value to HPE customers - delivered quickly and securely. We focus on rapid iteration and confident shipping of software to partners and customers.

A successful candidate for this role will have a key influence in defining how HPE builds, automates, and securely maintains the pipeline many different products helping to drive billions of dollars in revenue.

The role is broadly defined and will encompass building pipelines with modern tooling like GitHub Actions, defining test frameworks written in Python, working with upstream Open Source testing, and ensuring the flow of code through the CI/CD system. 

How You'll Make Your Mark

• Help create and enhance CI/CD/CT pipelines for multiple products within the Compute BU using modern software practices
• Work to ensure on-time deliveries of products critical to HPE’s business success
• Monitor and improve build and developer velocity to make the team and consumers more effective
• Develop innovative solutions and participate in building a broad DevOps collaborative community throughout HPE

About You:

• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions or Jenkins while leveraging tools technologies like Docker, AWS services, Ansible, Vault, and Artifactory.
• Software development experience with languages like Python
• Experience with using REST APIs
• Experience with modern CI/CD/CT processes and agile methodologies
• Experience with Linux systems
• Willingness to experiment and tackle different challenges that arise
• Effective communicator that can work well with a distributed team and multiple downstream consumers and collaborating across team boundaries
• A healthy impatience to build and deliver products quickly and a desire to create innovative solutions that accelerate productivity

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with open-source projects, particularly Yocto
• Experience with infrastructure management and implementing Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with pytest, robot, and other test frameworks
• Experience with GitHub Copilot
• Understanding of HPE server management and standard protocols such as Redfish & REST
• Experience with embedded devices such as (but not limited to) iLO and/or OpenBMC
