Duties and Responsibilities
At the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) we are committed to providing highway safety and security through excellence in service, education and enforcement. The Bureau of Dealer Services serves to protect the interests of Florida consumers by providing regulatory oversight of motor vehicle dealers and mobile home manufacturers.
As the Business Consultant I, you will play a critical role in ensuring that we are able to fulfill this role by managing business operations for the assigned regions or operational areas. This work will include:
- Serving as the first point of contact for any operational issues that need to be addressed and working with the Program Manager and Regional Administrators to provide solutions.
- Monitoring, coordinating and providing guidance for staffing, training, and other personnel actions and concerns.
- Monitoring, coordinating and providing guidance for procurement, budget and other fiscal actions and concerns.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Be able to understand, interpret and apply a comprehensive knowledge of personnel, purchasing and other Department laws, agency policies and procedures, and best practices.
- Be solutions oriented with the ability to use critical thinking, judgment and problem-solving techniques to effectively evaluate information and make sound decisions.
- Possess excellent active listening, oral and written communication skills to include the ability to effectively articulate and convey information so that it is readily understandable
- Be able to effectively organize and manage a busy workload, be productive in an environment with regular interruptions, balance competing priorities, and meet designated timeframes without compromising accuracy, attention to detail or customer service.
