The Route Planning team handles planning in urban environments, including intelligent routing, responding to obstacles and dynamic road events. Our work enables real-time decision making on AVs and powers the matching of thousands of vehicles to customers. Engineers on this team develop algorithms and systems for handling complex road scenarios and work to tie autonomous driving to customer facing demands with code that is clean, fast, reliable and scalable.

Route Planning works closely with Prediction and Planning to translate route directions into road trajectories that safely navigate around nearby agents; with Mapping and Marketplace to communicate and consume real-time fleet information; with Dispatch, Cloud Routing and Data Science to jointly optimize for fleet utilization, customer experience and business goals.

What you’ll be doing:

• Develop complex, highly scalable, and latency-optimized software in C++
• Deploy code to AVs and Cloud Routing systems
• Invent, extend, design and develop next-generation features for urban routing in self driving vehicle applications
• Improve and deliver reliable software through continuous integration, automated testing, and code reviews

What you must have:

• Industry experience in routing, logistics or ridehail
• Fluency in C++
• Familiarity with Python
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to write clean, fast, reliable, testable, and highly scalable code

Bonus Points!

• Academic or working experience in traffic prediction
• Academic or working experience in Autonomous Vehicles or Robotics
• Fluency in Python

 

The salary range for this position is $163,200 - 240,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
