<p><span>Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of machinery and equipment including automotive, light equipment and/or heavy duty equipment.Performs repairs in accordance with accepted automotive service/repair industry standards and agency policy.</span></p>

<span>Job Duties:</span>

<p><span>Inspects a variety of vehicles/equipment, to identify repairs and adjustments necessary for safe operation. Performs scheduled preventive maintenance services, including lube and oil change, tire repair and mounting, and minor repairs/adjustments.<br/><br/>Interpreting manufacturer specifications. Assists Intermediate and Senior Technician with complex overhaul and repair projects.<br/><br/>Updates and maintains preventive maintenance service records. Picks up and delivers parts and supplies. Picks up and returns vehicles and equipment.<br/><br/>Responsible for preparing newly purchased vehicles and equipment to be placed in operational service. Operate a state vehicle. Other duties as assigned as related to the position.</span></p>

<p><span><strong>Knowledge of:</strong> <br/>*Power/drive train system inspection, diagnosis and repair procedures. <br/>*Electrical systems inspection, diagnosis, and repair procedures. <br/>*Electronic control systems inspection, diagnosis, and repair procedures. <br/>*Computerized diagnostic analyzer use procedures and practices. <br/>*Hydraulic systems inspection, diagnosis, and repair procedures. <br/>*Operating principles of gasoline and diesel powered internal combustion engines. <br/>*Fleet maintenance shop safety principles and practices. <br/>*Record keeping principles and practices.<br/><br/><strong>Skill in:</strong><br/>*Repairing and maintaining mechanical, electrical, electronic and automotive/heavy construction equipment. <br/>*Operating computerized diagnostic analyzer equipment analyzer equipment. <br/>*Estimating time cost of repair maintenance work for a wide variety of automotive/heavy construction equipment. <br/>*Scheduling/coordinating automotive/heavy construction equipment service and repair to maximize utilization. <br/>*Repairing, rebuilding, and overhauling mechanical, electrical, electronic, and/or hydraulic systems in a wide variety of automotive/light/heavy construction equipment. <br/><br/><strong>Ability to:</strong><br/>*Follow oral and written instructions.<br/>*Interpret repair manuals, service bulletins and recall bulletins. <br/>*Utilize a PC and PC programs such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. <br/>*Manage time effectively.<br/>*Diagnose issues quickly and accurately, and determine the best course of action to fix them. <br/>*Prioritize tasks efficiently, especially in high-demand environments where equipment downtime needs to be minimized. <br/>*Lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull 90 lbs; pass a physical exam. </span></p>
