Job Summary:

The MUSC Boeing Center for Children's Wellness (MUSC BCCW) advances innovative, partnership-driven approaches to promote optimal health and wellness for children, adolescents, and school staff across South Carolina. The Assistant Director provides strategic and operational leadership for the center, overseeing day-to-day functions including staff supervision, program development and implementation, fiscal management, and reporting. This role manages contracts and memoranda of agreement (MOAs) with school districts, community partners, and other stakeholders, while serving as a content-area liaison to resolve conflicts, address partner needs, and ensure effective planning, implementation, and evaluation of BCCW programming. This position is a remote position, however, the candidate must live in South Carolina and be able to travel to Charleston and other participating communities for in-person meetings regularly.


Job Duties:

Staff management and supervision (25%)

Serve as hiring manager responsible for all personnel operations, including developing position descriptions, defining job duties and success criteria, and conducting performance evaluations. Ensure compliance with organizational hiring policies, approve OurDay HR transactions, and prepare documentation for reclassifications and compensation reviews. Lead and manage program staff in alignment with the center's mission and strategic priorities, continuously assessing and improving team effectiveness. Facilitate regular team meetings with direct reports to provide support, accountability, and oversight of program implementation. Provide day-to-day supervision and guidance to ensure consistent, compliant delivery of initiatives. Collaborate closely with the MUSC Children's Health Institute for Community Health Director, program coordinators, and the Department of Pediatrics.

Strategic planning and program implementation (25%)

Direct and manage the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of MUSC BCCW's school-based initiatives. Assess existing programs and recommend revisions or new programming in response to partner needs, emerging evidence, and funding opportunities. Lead project planning activities, including community outreach, stakeholder engagement, mobilization, coordination, implementation, assessment, and evaluation. Support the planning and writing of grant proposals and work closely with the Institute Director and internal and external partners to identify, pursue, and secure funding for current programs and expansion efforts. Establish and maintain timelines, workflows, and processes to ensure effective project implementation across all initiatives.

Financial Management – (20%)

Support the development and ongoing management of MUSC BCCW project budgets, including monitoring revenue and expenditures, forecasting, budget planning, and compliance with funder reporting requirements. Analyze staffing and project needs to develop accurate budget projections for new and existing initiatives.

Contract Management – (15%)

Administer the financial and operational aspects of multiple grants and contracts. Develop, monitor, and manage Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs), vendor contracts, and Professional Service Agreements (PSAs) across all projects, including drafting, submission, execution, renewal, and ter
