The difference between these two often lies in the quality of the software engineering approach, particularly the use of data from actual usage, the combination of models and data for designing and verifying systems, and not least in collaboration across disciplines, starting with the well-known DevOps approaches and extension of those to UX and AI.<br/> Therefore, the software engineering methods group at Bosch Research is looking for a research software engineer to help push this forward. If you love modern software engineering methods and want to apply them to challenges out of the ordinary, this is your chance! Join an interdisciplinary team working on runtime techniques for assuring dependability of assisted and autonomous driving, and part of a larger research program investigating quality of service in distributed applications.</p><ul><li>You will design and implement software for model- and data-based monitoring and diagnostics to ensure safe operation.</li><li>Furthermore, you will analyze data coming from real-world and simulated usage of components and systems to improve dependability and ensure that development focuses on the user's key value adds.</li><li>You will work with stakeholders including the team, safety experts, and customers to refine quality goals and key value indicators based on usage data, including experimentation, A/B testing, etc.</li><li>Last but not least, you will contribute to the system and software architecture based on the quality goals as well as to improving our iterative, DevOps-oriented engineering methodology.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li><strong>Education: </strong>excellent Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or a related technical field, PhD on a related topic is a plus</li><li><strong>Experience and Knowledge: </strong>2+ years of experience working on complex software systems in industrial or research teams; experience with safety assurance is a big plus as well as research experience</li><li><strong>Personality and Working Practice: </strong>We are looking for a collaborative person, with excellent communication skills focused on understanding real needs and finding creative and pragmatic solutions.</li><li><strong>Languages:</strong> excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in German is a plus</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><p><a href="http://www.bosch.com/research">https://www.bosch-ai.com<br/> www.bosch.com/research</a></p><p>Please submit all relevant documents (CV, letter of motivation, certificates and links to GitHub or kaggle account).</p><p>You want to work remotely or part-time - we offer great opportunities for mobile working as well as different part-time models or job-sharing.
