About the role

Plan, organize, and lead the engineering department to achieve company objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Is responsible for and provides leadership and direction to the Engineering department to successfully meet company and departmental goals; is a key member of the company’s senior management team and helps to provide cohesive leadership to the entire company by working effectively with others and cross-functional teams.
  • Ensures all engineering activities meet quality, cost, and schedule expectations to achieve corporate objectives.
  • Ensures engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies.
  • Ensures innovative systems and processes are identified and implemented to enhance the companies’ future.
  • Ensures FAA Certification and regulatory compliance are met and sound engineering practices meet corporate expectations.
  • Ensures overall design and engineering activities relative to the BV-107 & Model 234 Type Certificates.
  • Ensures intra-departmental engineering support throughout the organization.
  • Proposes and ensures all expenditures meet budgetary constraints.
  • Conducts performance evaluations, plans salary actions, recommends hires and promotions, anticipates and plans for skills and human resource requirements and develops staff to meet those needs, interprets and applies organization policies, and provides leadership toward resolving employee problems.

  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • BS in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Civil Engineering or related engineering field, and ten years of engineering experience in aviation field and 5 years of management experience in the aviation field
  • Must have a working familiarity with helicopter structures, mechanical systems or electrical systems
  • Effectively coordinates engineering requirements with customers and external support organizations
  • Ability to write and review technical engineering reports
  • Management experience and demonstrated ability to lead and build teams across all levels of the organization, and ability to coach and develop engineers and seasoned technical professionals
  • Strong customer relations & interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in order to effectively present ideas, concepts and proposals to all level of the organization
  • Must demonstrate commitment, vision and a tenacity to drive assignments to completion
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Conduct oneself in accordance with Company’s Core Values
