About This Role
The Sr Human Resources Business Partner will serve as a strategic partner to our team, providing expertise in all aspects of human resources management. We’re on the hunt for someone who is enthusiastic and ready to roll up their sleeves to dive into the heart of our organization. As the Sr. Human Resources Business Partner, you will work with some of the most talented engineers in the industry and work to ensure the team is happy and healthy at Varda.
You will be responsible for an array of critical functions across the company including benefits, management coaching, talent retention strategies, and working to ensure the Varda mission is a constant reality for our team. You and your team will be asked to provide a information technology strategy for the company with the help of the engineering teams, spacecraft operations teams, and the vehicle production organization.
This is a full-time, exempt position located in our El Segundo headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Respond to employee inquiries, questions and complaints, and provide information, guidance and direction on employee relations issues, performance management, and other core HR functions
- Assist employees and managers with the Varda's policies and relevant laws and regulations
- Develop a compensation strategy for the team and partner with talent acquisition for buy-in of strategy and process
- Work closely with the team to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity
- Develop and execute Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategies
- Develop, implement, and track employee benefits programs including health insurance, family planning and fertility benefits, and other employee perks such as gym memberships and corporate discount programs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll and benefit inquiries and issues
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Liaise with external partners, such as benefits vendors and tax professionals.
- Conduct regular audits on payroll procedures, monthly insurance reconciliation, and records to ensure accuracy.
- Keep abreast of current trends and regulations in payroll and benefits administration to suggest and implement process improvements.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Human Resources
- Proven ability to manage conflict
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience in an engineering, production, or manufactures environment support an exempt and hourly workforce
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing employee concerns.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to engage with diverse teams
- Proficiency in data analysis to measure employee engagement, turnover rates, and other key HR metrics.
Pay Range
- Salary Range: $118,000.00 - $160,000.00/per year
- This role is on-site in El Segundo, CA
- Leveling and base salary is determined by job-related skills, education level, experience level, and job performance
- You will be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of stock options and/or long-term cash
